Toby Greenwood’s
we free kings/

we free kings is an acoustic jazz ensemble playing music written and arranged by Leeds' saxophonist Toby Greenwood. The material is built around strong, evocative melodic themes and while the writing is stylistically influenced by major American jazz composers such as Wayne Shorter and Charles Mingus there are also tangible influences from Latin American and particularly South African jazz.

'influences bleed through into horn-fuelled compositions which are a rich blend of style and substance' - Yorkshire Evening Post

'abso-blooming-lutely marvellous' - John Brown
