Toby Greenwood’s
we free kings/

Toby Greenwood – composer/tenor and soprano saxophones
The son of a multi-instrumentalist, Toby has been a professional saxophonist since the age of 16 and although reared on jazz he has, until recently, made his living principally within the funk, R’n’B and session scene. Having worked in brass sections of just about every size and permutation you can think of, he makes particular use of this invaluable experience when arranging the brass in ‘we free kings’, exploiting the different blends and tonal possibilities available. Toby has contributed material to many of the groups he has worked with and is currently enjoying the opportunity, with this project, to explore and develop a compositional style that has been praised for it’s maturity and described as evocative and ‘visual’.
